Choosing the Right Trail Runner

Now that ski season is over, it is time for your summer sport. Trail running is a great way to get out and stay in shape for next winter. But your average sports shoes just do not cut it. You need tightening shoe that can withstand the demands of the unpaved runway.

Before choosing a shoe, assess your needs. Will you be running mountain trails or steep, windy dirt roads directly flat? Toe rand (hard rubber stoppers on the front of the shoe) and nylon flex plates to protect your paws on a terrain with cords and exposed roots and rocks. Would four-season performance?Search rods resistant to water and aggressive tread for mud and snow.

Do you have any problems with the process: a tendency to roll in your feet (over-pronation) or roll (under-pronation) that you run? The tread on an old pair of sneakers should reveal all the problems pronation. In general, those who suffer from over-pronation need more support and motion control from a shoe. Look up a scree collar to stabilize the ankle. Sub-pronator need more cushioning and flexibility.
