Buckle up: Minn. marks seat-belt law anniversary
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) - The agencies of law enforcement in Minnesota will be looking for drivers who are not committed over the next two weeks.
The last "click it or Ticket" campaign marks a year since Minnesota law primary seat belt took effect June 9, 2009. The law allows police to stop and ticket motorists just for not being committed.
To fully understand the consequences of driving without a seatbelt - especially among the young - the state Public Safety Department announced the campaign on Monday in a conducive learning style containing 206 empty chairs.This represents the number of accident deaths in Minnesota adolescence during the past five years. About half the victims were not wearing seatbelts.
The campaign runs through June 6
